Vintage 1950s Sofono Spacemaster Electric Heater

A fantastic example of 1950s British Space Age design, this original Sofono Spacemaster electric heater has the unmistakable circular “flying saucer” form that has made the model a favourite among collectors of mid-century design.

Designed by Ralph Cameron Ormiston for the Sofono Electrical Division of Federated Foundries in Falkirk, Scotland, the Spacemaster combines a bold enamelled steel body with contrasting chrome grilles and its distinctive angled chrome legs.

Its sculptural shape and strong colour make it as visually striking as it is functional — a wonderful statement piece for a mid-century, Atomic Age or eclectic interior.
