Terms & Conditions

Last updated: 04 September 2026

These terms reflect UK consumer law, including the Consumer Rights Act 2015 and the Consumer Contracts (Information, Cancellation and Additional Charges) Regulations 2013, and EU consumer rights where they apply. They are a template and should be reviewed by a qualified adviser before use.

1. About us

Eklectable & Co. is a trading name of Karin Marchant, 18 Lucius Street, Torquay TQ2 5UW, United Kingdom. Contact: karin@eklectable.co.uk. [Company/VAT number if applicable.]

2. These terms

By placing an order, making a reservation, or booking a workshop with us, you agree to these terms. Please read them carefully. You must be at least 18 years old to purchase.

3. Our products

Many of our pieces are one-off vintage, antique or restored items. As such, each is sold in its existing condition, with natural signs of age and character that form part of its charm. We describe condition as accurately as we can and photograph honestly, but colours may vary slightly between screens. If you would like more detail or additional images before buying, please contact us.

4. Price and VAT

Prices are shown in pounds sterling (£) and include VAT where applicable. Delivery costs for larger pieces are quoted separately (see Delivery). We may correct obvious pricing errors before dispatch.

5. Orders and acceptance

Your order is an offer to buy. A contract forms when we send confirmation that the item has been dispatched (or, for collection, that it is ready). As pieces are often unique, an item may sell in-store before your online order is accepted; if so, we will refund you in full.

6. Payment

Payment is taken securely at checkout through our payment providers. We do not store your full card details.

7. Reservations and deposits

Where we offer a reservation, it requires a 30% non-refundable deposit to hold the piece for the agreed period. The deposit is deducted from the final price. If the balance is not paid within the agreed period, the reservation lapses and the deposit is retained.

8. Delivery, risk and title

Smaller items are shipped by tracked carrier. Larger or fragile pieces are delivered by a bespoke courier arrangement, confirmed with you directly after purchase. Risk passes to you on delivery; ownership passes once we have received full payment.

9. Your right to cancel (online orders)

If you are a consumer in the UK or EU buying online, you generally have the right to cancel within 14 days of receiving your item, under the Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013 (and equivalent EU rights), without giving a reason. To cancel, email karin@eklectable.co.uk. You then have 14 days to return the item at your own cost, in the condition received. We will refund within 14 days of receiving the item back (or proof of return). This right does not apply to bespoke/personalised commissions or made-to-order items.

10. Faulty or misdescribed goods

Your legal rights under the Consumer Rights Act 2015 are unaffected. If an item arrives damaged, faulty, or not as described, contact us within a reasonable time and we will offer a repair, replacement or refund as appropriate.

11. Restoration & commission services

Bespoke restoration and upholstery commissions are quoted individually. Timescales, materials and price are agreed in writing before work begins. Commissioned and made-to-order work is generally non-cancellable once started.

12. Workshops

Workshop places are confirmed on payment. If you cannot attend, please give us as much notice as possible; our cancellation terms will be provided at booking. We may reschedule a workshop and will offer a transfer or refund if we cannot.

13. Our liability

We do not exclude liability where it would be unlawful to do so (including for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or fraud). Otherwise, our liability is limited to the price of the goods or services.

14. Complaints and dispute resolution

Please contact us first at karin@eklectable.co.uk — we aim to resolve issues quickly and fairly.

15. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales, and disputes are subject to the courts of England and Wales. If you are a consumer resident elsewhere, you retain the benefit of any mandatory protections of your country of residence.

16. Intellectual property

All content on this site — text, images and branding — belongs to Eklectable & Co. and may not be used without permission.

Stay ahead of new acquisitions.
